How often should my medications be reviewed?

At least annually, and any time something changes: a new diagnosis, a hospital stay, a new prescription from a specialist, or new side effects. If you take several medications, more often is better.

Can you handle refills between visits?

Yes. Refills are part of ongoing care. Direct Primary Care members can phone, text or message us directly rather than waiting on a callback.

What if my medication is too expensive?

Tell us rather than skipping doses. There is very often an alternative at a different price point, or a different way to obtain the same medication. This is a solvable problem more often than people assume.

Can you review medications prescribed by my specialist?

Yes, and we will coordinate with them rather than change things behind their back. The point is that someone sees how everything works together.

I think a medication is causing side effects. What should I do?

Call us before stopping it. Some medications should not be stopped abruptly. We will look at whether it is the likely cause and what the alternatives are.
