What telehealth works well for

A virtual visit is a real appointment. You talk to Dr. Ricketts, she reviews your history, and you leave with a plan, a prescription or a referral. Some things genuinely need an in-person exam, and we will tell you honestly when that is the case.

Telehealth across Ocala and Marion County

Telehealth removes the drive, which matters if you work through clinic hours, do not drive, or live out toward Ocklawaha or Summerfield. It is also the fastest way to get a straight answer about whether something needs an in-person visit.

How do I schedule a virtual visit?

Call the clinic at (352) 566-3706 or book online. We will confirm that your concern is a good fit for telehealth and send you the link for your appointment.

Do I need special software?

No. You need a phone, tablet or computer with a camera and a reliable internet connection. We will send you a link to join at your appointment time.

Can you prescribe medication over telehealth?

Yes, for many conditions. Some medications require an in-person visit or lab work first, and certain controlled substances cannot be prescribed virtually. Dr. Ricketts will tell you during the visit if that applies.

Is telehealth covered by insurance?

Most major plans cover telehealth, though coverage varies. Call us with your plan name and we will check before your appointment. Direct Primary Care members have virtual visits included in their membership.

Is a virtual visit as good as coming in?

For the right concerns, yes. For anything needing an exam, imaging or a hands-on assessment, an in-person visit is better, and we will say so rather than stretch a virtual visit past what it can do.

Can I use telehealth for my child?

Yes, from age 3 and up, with a parent or guardian present for the visit.
